modern websites to drive more business to your business.

Website Template Creation

Template creation, in the website design realm, is the building of the actual website from the approved design.

The template is typically the second step of the development of a new or redesigned website project. After the design is approved by the client, WebNola begins creating the template. The template is the part or parts of a website which typically won’t vary much between the different pages of the site.

On a typical website with one template, the following parts of the pages would be included on the template:

  1. Header – The top of the site which might include things like the logo, navigation, slogans, and taglines.
  2. Sidebar – The side of the website in the case of a two-column or three-column website which might include navigation, links, banners, and graphics.
  3. Footer – The bottom of the website which might include company address, phone, hours, contact information, and copyright information.

Using a template to develop your website ensures that each page’s individual content are the only things that change from page to page.

What sets WebNola’s Templates Apart

WebNola combines XHTML and CSS to create functional website templates which work across all popular browsers and are valid to W3C standards. What this means is that you don’t have to worry about what browser your visitors are using and can feel confident that your information is being presented correctly to help you increase your business.

What browsers does WebNola test their website code in?

According to W3Schools, 96.9 of web surfers use one of the following browsers:

  1. Firefox
  2. Google Chrome
  3. Internet Explorer (yes, even Internet Explorer 6!)
  4. Safari

What width template does WebNola typically create?

Most often, we create websites which are about 1000 pixels wide. According to W3Schools, most people surf the web with a monitor resolution of 1024×768 pixels. We shoot for about 1000 to leave a little extra room and to leave a little more room for a scroll bar.

If you go with one of our competitors, you might end up with a website with horizontal scrollbars on your site, which is never good.

What if one or more pages on my website need to accommodate A LOT of content?

Our templates are great because they are ALWAYS built with the assumption that it may need to hold a lot of content, even if it isn’t right from the start. To accommodate this, our templates are built to stretch vertically in a way that keeps the site looking good no matter how much content you have – to infinity… and beyond!

Some other New Orleans web design companies built websites that have a set height. When you have this, you are either limited in the amount of content you can put on a page, or have to implement things like scrollbars, popups, and content that requires visitors to click many different pages to read one article. This can annoy your visitors and hurt your search engine rank.

Yeah, but what about Search Engine Optimization?

The biggest four on-page things you can do to help your search engine rank are listed below. The WebNola difference is that not only do we use these things when building templates, but we do them the best possible way according to past successes.

  1. Meta Tags
  2. Title Tags
  3. Header Tags
  4. Keywords
